Selection Process for Jharkhand High Court Stenographer Recruitment 2024

Recruitment Test Components:

Test of Stenography and Typing:

Marks: 90
Dictation of shorthand passage: 5 minutes @ 80 words per minute.
Typing test: 10 minutes @ 40 words per minute.
The typing test is qualifying.

Personality Test and Interview:

Marks: 10

Candidates who qualify for the Stenography and Typing test will undergo a Personality Test and Interview.

Test Procedure:

A trial passage containing 400 words in English will be provided for dictation to evaluate the efficiency of audio and computer systems.
The trial passage will be dictated at the same speed as the final passage.
The trial passage will not be transcribed or evaluated.
After a five-minute lapse from the dictation of the trial passage, the final passage will be dictated.
Candidates will have 30 minutes to transcribe the dictated passage onto the computer.
The transcription of stenography and typing tests will be done on a computer provided by the examining authority.
Candidates are advised to continue typing until the full 10 minutes are completed for the typing test.

Selection Criteria:

Total marks obtained in the transcription of stenography and interview will determine the candidates’ success.
Candidates qualifying for the Stenography and Typing test will be called for the interview in a ratio of three times the number of vacancies in each category.
